01 / Overview

A guided altitude station, on the biggest screen.

What Matterhorn is, what makes it different, and where it fits in the HPFN lineup.

Matterhorn is a console-format normobaric hypoxic trainer: a seated station with a large 13.3-inch tilt-adjustable touchscreen delivering software-controlled low-oxygen air through a mask.

What makes it different: a generous 1 to 4.5 km equivalent range with ≥25% oxygen enrichment and a 22 L/min generator, presented on the largest screen in the HPFN lineup for guided, at-a-glance sessions.

Who it's for: clinics and wellness centers, premium home users, and facilities that want a dedicated, guided seated training station.

Why this configuration: the console format and large display make protocols easy to follow; the integrated airbag and multi-stage air treatment deliver clean gas for longer sessions.

  • Simulates a 1000 to 4500 m equivalent altitude with clean low-oxygen gas
  • 13.3-inch touchscreen, continuously adjustable 0–90° + dedicated controller + algorithm
  • One-piece integrated airbag
  • Multiple respiratory mask options
  • Multi-stage air-treatment system delivering clean low-oxygen gas
  • Wired or wireless network; stagger units for heat dissipation

07 / Questions

Common questions about Matterhorn.

Eight answers to the questions buyers ask before placing an order.

01How is normobaric hypoxic training different from hyperbaric or hypobaric chambers?
Normobaric systems like Matterhorn reduce the oxygen percentage in air at normal atmospheric pressure — the same physiological stimulus as altitude, without the cost, footprint, or safety complexity of pressurized chambers.
02How is Matterhorn different from the other floor units?
Matterhorn is a console-format station with the largest screen in the lineup (13.3″, 0–90° adjustable), a wider 1–4.5 km range and ≥25% oxygen enrichment. For the flagship studio cabinet see Everest (HPF-1); for an accessible single-user unit see Kilimanjaro (HypoxicFit).
03What's the lead time from order to delivery?
Standard lead time is 6 – 8 weeks from order confirmation. Expedited delivery is available on request.
04Any siting requirements?
Operate at 25 °C ± 5 °C and 45–75% humidity, with adequate ventilation. For multi-unit installations, stagger the units rather than placing them back-to-back so each can dissipate heat. It connects over wired or wireless network.
05What's the warranty and ongoing support?
2-year manufacturer warranty on all hardware. Lifetime software updates and technical support. Annual maintenance service plans available.
06What certifications does Matterhorn hold?
CMA certified (China's national testing authority), CE compliant, and IEC 60335-1 compliant. FCC and IC certifications are in progress for North American market readiness.
07Is hypoxic training safe?
Properly programmed normobaric hypoxic training is a well-studied intervention with decades of peer-reviewed literature behind it. Matterhorn's SpO₂ monitoring and automatic safety thresholds add hardware-level protection on top of protocol-level safety practices.
08Can I see Matterhorn before buying?
Yes — request a virtual demo or, for qualified buyers, an in-person visit to HPFN's Hefei facility. Trade-show appearances are listed on the News & Research page.
